Garfield Jubilee Association, Inc. Recipient of the Department of Labor YouthBuild Grant

Garfield Jubilee Association, Inc. YouthBuild Program has recently received a $1,087,559 grant from the Department of Labor.  The Department of Labor awarded $85 million dollars in grants to YouthBuild Programs in 32 states.  We are pleased to be one of the 32 YouthBuild Programs to receive this award.    A highly competitive process, applicants must apply for the grants and one of the criteria includes performance Based outcomes in job placement, industry-recognized certificates, retention for placement and increases in numeracy and literacy percentages.  GJA was the recipient of a Department of Labor award in 2016.

YouthBuild programs provide education and training with a strong pre-apprenticeship component that helps at-risk youth complete high school or state equivalency degree programs, earn industry-recognized credentials for in-demand occupations and undergo training to building housing for low-income or homeless individuals and families.

Garfield Jubilee Association, Inc. has run a successful YouthBuild Program for the past 11 years.
